Prayers to Saint Joseph to obtain purity

This is the day we celebrate him: here are 5 prayers to Saint Joseph, to ask him for purity and healing from an addiction to pornography.

PriĂšre pour obtenir la puretĂ© de cƓur, d’esprit et de corps (Sainte ThĂ©rĂšse de Lisieux)

Saint Joseph, father and guardian of virgins, to whose faithful keeping Christ Jesus, innocence itself, and Mary, the virgin of virgins was entrusted, I pray and beseech you by that twofold and most precious charge, by Jesus and Mary, to save me from all uncleanness, to keep my mind untainted, my heart pure, and my body chaste; and to help me always to serve Jesus and Mary in perfect chastity. Amen.

Prayer of Pope Leo XIII to St. Joseph

To you, O Blessed Joseph, we come in our trials, and having asked the help of your most holy spouse, we confidently ask your patronage also. Through that sacred bond of charity which united you to the Immaculate Virgin Mother of God and through the fatherly love with which you embraced the Child Jesus, we humbly beg you to look graciously upon the beloved inheritance which Jesus Christ purchased by his blood, and to aid us in our necessities with your power and strength.

O most provident guardian of the Holy Family, defend the chosen children of Jesus Christ. Most beloved father, dispel the evil of falsehood and sin. Our most mighty protector, graciously assist us from heaven in our struggle with the powers of darkness. And just as you once saved the Child Jesus from mortal danger, so now defend God’s Holy Church from the snares of her enemies and from all adversity. Shield each one of us by your constant protection, so that, supported by your example and your help, we may be able to live a virtuous life, to die a holy death, and to obtain eternal happiness in heaven. Amen.

Prayer of St. Francis de Sales to St. Joseph

Glorious St Joseph, spouse of Mary, grant us thy paternal protection, we beseech thee by the heart of Jesus Christ. O thou, whose power extends to all our necessities and can render possible for us the most impossible things, open thy fatherly eyes to the needs of thy children.

In the trouble and distress which afflicts us, we confidently have recourse to thee. Deign to take under your charitable charge this important and difficult matter, cause of our worries. Make its happy outcome be for God’s glory and for the good of His devoted servants. Amen.

Prayer for Special Assistance

Oh, St. Joseph, whose protection is so great, so strong, so prompt before the throne of God. I place in you all my interests and desires. Oh, St. Joseph, do assist me by your powerful intercession, and obtain for me from your Divine Son all spiritual blessings, through Jesus Christ, our Lord. So that, having engaged here below your heavenly power, I may offer my thanksgiving and homage to the most loving of Fathers.

Oh, St. Joseph, I never weary of contemplating you, and Jesus asleep in your arms; I dare not approach while He reposes near your heart. Press Him in my name and kiss His fine head for me and ask him to return the Kiss when I draw my dying breath. St. Joseph, Patron of departing souls – Pray for Me.

Prayer to Saint Joseph for a Difficult Problem

O Glorious St. Joseph, thou who hast power to render possible even things which are considered impossible, come to our aid in our present trouble and distress. Take this important and difficult affair under thy particular protection, that it may end happily. (mention your request)

O dear St. Joseph, all our confidence is in thee. Let it not be said that we would invoke thee in vain; and since thou art so powerful with Jesus and Mary, show that thy goodness equals thy power. Amen.

St. Joseph, friend of the Sacred Heart, pray for us.

Memorate to Joseph

Remember, O most chaste spouse of the Virgin Mary,
that never was it known
that anyone who asked for your help
and sought your intercession
was left unaided.

Full of confidence in your power,
I hasten to you and beg your protection.
Listen, O foster father of the Redeemer,
to my humble prayer,
and in your goodness hear and answer me.

Amen.

Carlo Acutis’s mother sends you a message!

A delegation of our association Lights in the Dark, went to Assisi for the beatification of Carlo Acutis. A meeting was planned with his mother, but what was not foreseen was that she proposed to deliver a video message to you! Discover Carlo Acutis’s mother message.

Carlo Acutis’s mother message :

The problem is that today, many young people visit pornographic sites. Internet can be a great tool but also be a bad one. Pornography is a plague and it attack people on charity.

It uses people and leads them to have wrong behaviour towards them. Pornography creates problems to young people : problems with their faith, their charity and their affectivity. it is really a bad thing.

Carlo used to warn his friends against pornography. When he died, the diocesan cause took his computer. They have never find a pornographic site on all his browsing history. He was truly pure and purity was very important to him, it meant a lot.

The Virgin Mary insisted a lot on this. When she appeared in Fatima, she said that many souls go to hell for the sin of the flesh. It is very dangerous for your soul !

So it is very important to go to the confession as soon as you fail. If it is to difficult to you, you can go to the confession every day and ask help from heaven. The evil is using this to destroy family, young people. It is truly an attack against charity, faith, hope and all virtues, it is one of his favorite tools.

I like your association which helps young people and all people who are victims of these addictions, it is like a drug. You know, studies show that it creates brain synapses equal to those created by cocaïne
 This is really incredible !

I will really pray for your association and for all the people you will help.

You Can Free Yourself From Pornography Through Prayer!

You Can Free Yourself From Pornography Through Prayer!

An article by Olivia de Fournas published in Famille chrétienne in September 2020.

The platform SOSPorno.net (launched on September 24, 2020) is intended to help Internet users free themselves from pornography addiction by contacting e-missionaries and praying for deliverance.

Mr. Jean-Baptiste Maillard is convinced that, “many people can be healed from pornography if we help them turn to the Lord”.  The co-founder of Lights in the Dark, an association that evangelizes via the Internet, launched a new website, SOSPorno.net, on September 24, 2020. It allows people affected by this addiction to confide their problems to others and pray for their own healing. All the Internet user has to do is to simply connect to the SOSPorno.net site. On the bottom right-hand side of the page, they are invited to enter into a totally anonymous chat with one of the 60 or so “e-missionaries” of Lights in the Dark. These volonteers took turns during the 3-day Congress Mission that took place earlier in the year (https://app.congresmission.com/), “to listen to Internet users, to pray for and with them, and to give witness to God’s love”.

After discussing together, the person is offered a deliverance prayer, entrusted to the intercession of Blessed Carlo Acutis. This prayer was written by two mothers and approved of by Mgr Jerome Beau, Archbishop of Bourges, and Dom Jean Pateau, Father Abbot of Fontgombault Abbey (France). Blessed Carlo, an Italian boy, who died at the age of 15 in 2006 of acute leukemia, was chosen because he will be beatified on October 10, 2020 and was given as an example to teenagers by Pope Francis (notably in his apostolic exhortation Christus Vivit). Familiar with the spirituality of this young servant of God, Jean-Baptiste immediately saw the hand of Providence when the two mothers came to present their prayer to him: “Carlo was aware of the dangers of the Internet, and of ’empty pleasures’, he knew how to act creatively to proclaim the Gospel, and to proclaim value and beauty.” The founder of Lights in the Dark also obtained, through a Capuchin priest in Assisi, the support of Carlo’s mother who wrote “Molto bene autorizzo” (“Very good, I give my authorization”).

However, the deliverance prayer from pornography does not stop when the Internet user signs off: 3,000 members of the “invisible monastery Carlo Acutis” continue praying and offer follow-ups by e-mail, with the contact info of a local priest or therapist. “There is no limit to what can be done. Our initiative is complementary to what already exists and we believe that prayer can transform lives!” Others who feel called to respond to the needs of the members of our society affected by the scourge of online pornography can also join the ranks of e-missionaries. Jean-Baptiste Maillard, also co-author of the book « ÉvangĂ©liser sur internet, mode d’emploi » (Evangelize on the Internet: Instruction Manual in English, 2019) offers a workshop, available online on the Congress Mission website, “Transforming Lives on the Internet”(2).

When pope Francis spoke to the youth about Carlo

When pope Francis spoke to the youth about Carlo

In March 2019, in a long letter addressed to the youth (2), the Pope mentions Carlo at three different points, before he’d even officially been made a Blessed! Here Francis speaks about the “empty pleasure” the internet offers us:

  1. I remind you of the good news we received as a gift on the morning of the resurrection: that in all the dark or painful situations that we mentioned, there is a way out. For example, it is true that the digital world can expose you to the risk of self-absorption, isolation and empty pleasure. But don’t forget that there are young people even there who show creativity and even genius. That was the case with the Venerable Carlo Acutis.
  1. Carlo was well aware that the whole apparatus of communications, advertising and social networking can be used to lull us, to make us addicted to consumerism and buying the latest thing on the market, obsessed with our free time, caught up in negativity. Yet he knew how to use the new communications technology to transmit the Gospel, to communicate values and beauty.
  2. Carlo didn’t fall into the trap. He saw that many young people, wanting to be different, really end up being like everyone else, running after whatever the powerful set before them with the mechanisms of consumerism and distraction. In this way they do not bring forth the gifts the Lord has given them; they do not offer the world those unique personal talents that God has given to each of them. As a result, Carlo said, “everyone is born as an original, but many people end up dying as photocopies”. Don’t let that happen to you!

And you, would you prefer to die as an original, or as a photocopy? What do you think about the “empty pleasure” you get from the internet? Come and talk to us using the chat’:

The pope invites you to be liberated from your addiction

In a video, the pope invites you to liberate yourself from addiction, and be helped, cared for and healed from the suffering linked to it.

Video of Pope Francis, April 4th 2020

We pray that those suffering from addiction may be properly helped and accompanied.

Here are his words:

“The problem of what are called “new addictions” has a solution, but we must find the way. We need prophetic words and human ingenuity, and we need to do many things. It’s time to liberate ourselves from the addictions that seduce us. Jesus said, “Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also” (Mt 6:21). If we are attached only to earthly things, sooner or later we will become their slave. However, if our heart is attached to what never passes, we will find ourselves and be free. It’s time to fix our gaze on what lasts forever.

“Surely, you’ve heard about the drama of addiction. And
have you also thought about the addiction to gambling, to pornography, to the internet
and the dangers of virtual space?. Supported by the ‘Gospel of Mercy’ we can alleviate, care for and heal the suffering associated with new kinds of addiction. We pray that those suffering from addiction may be properly helped and accompanied.”

What’s the solution? How to you break out of it?

The problem of “new addictions” has a solution, freedom, but we have to find the path to it. Why couldn’t that path be prayer? It’s already enabled healing in other people.

And why not use this deliverance prayer we’ve put here for you?

But remember, prayer is not “magic”! You really can be healed by God, if you ask him from your heart. But if nothing seems to happen, there are still other ways of doing it: being accompanied through a programme like Free to Love, or therapy. You can break this addiction!

It’s time to break the addictions we’ve been seduced by
and which often destroy us. Jesus said: “For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also” (Gospel of Matthew, chapter 6, Verse 21). If we stick to just earthly things, we’ll sooner or later become a slave to them. But if our heart adheres to what never fades away, it’s there that we’ll find ourselves and we’ll be free. It’s time to fix our eyes on what endures!
